Bandaranaike International Airport | Sigiriya

Arrival at Colombo airport, where you will be met by a representative. You will start your journey towards Habarana, the cultural centre of Sri Lanka. From Habarana you can reach various important excursion points such as the Minneriya National Park, home to more than 300 Elephants. You can also enjoy an elephant ride in Habarana. In the late afternoon you will visit Sigiriya Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is regarded by many as an architectural wonder of the world. A 370-meter granite rock with a magnificent palace that was built around 475 AD. Once you reach the plateau you are faced with breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The rest of the day you can enjoy at leisure.

Sigiriya | Polonnaruwa

After an early breakfast you will travel to Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka's ancient cities. Polonnaruwa, which was the second capital of Sri Lanka, was protected by six kilometers of encircling walls. The highlight of Polonnaruwa is the Gal Vihara Rock Sculptures where an unknown 12th century sculptor carved three giant figures of the Buddha plus a chapel into a granite cliff-face. Lunch will be served at the Polonnaruwa Rest House on the shores of the giant Parakrama Samudraya, the Island's largest manmade reservoir which was built around the 10th century. Late afternoon you will make your way back to your hotel.

Sigiriya | Kandy

After breakfast you will drive towards the old capital of Sri Lanka - Kandy, on the way you will stop at the well-known Dambulla Cave Temple, where you will find a vast array of Buddha statues. Afterwards, you will continue onwards and stop at a Spice garden in Matale, where you will be taken on a private tour of the gardens. Furthermore, you will be taken on a tour of an artisanal Batik factory. Late afternoon you will visit the renowned Kandy Temple, also known as "The Temple of the Tooth", where the tooth relic of the Buddha lies. Once you have soaked in the calming atmosphere of the temple you will be taken to the lively sounds of the traditional Kandyan dance performance.

Kandy | Pinnawela

After an early breakfast you will visit the famous Pinnawela Elephant Orphanages. The orphanage was created to care and protect the orphaned wild elephants that were often found wandering around the forests of Sri Lanka. After spending time with these lovely creatures you will head back to Kandy and visit its market places, bazaars, and a model of a gem mine. You will also visit the beautiful Peradeniya Botanical Garden, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll of the grounds. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Kandy | Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast you will continue your journey towards the hill country of Sri Lanka - Nuwara Eliya, on the way you will stop at one of Sri Lanka's many tea factories and plantations. Nuwara Eliya is also known as "Little England" because of its quaint British type cottages, set amidst verdant hills. Late afternoon you will continue towards Bandarawela where you can relax while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Bandarawela | Yala National Park

After breakfast proceed to Yala. The drive down will take you through the Ella Gap, a scenic route through tea plantations, spice gardens and tropical jungle. You will arrive at your hotel around lunchtime. In the afternoon take part in a Safari through Yala National Park where you will get to see wild elephants in their natural habitat, leopards roaming around, as well as birds, crocodiles and deer. After all the excitement of the safari, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
